General overview of acupressure and Takama Acupressure set use

When using your acupressure set don't be too worried about finding the exact location of the acupressure point. By stimulating the general area you will be releasing and stimulating, gaining benefits from the treatment.

If you find that the point is tender, work around the area gently at first and as the pain decreases (this may take a few days) draw closer to the point and increase the pressure. Never allow yourself to be in pain from the application. .

Acupressure points are mirrored on both sides of the body. The following descriptions will show you one side but when self treating you should stimulate the points on both sides of the body.

The different textures of the balls and stick allow a range of personal options. There is no right or wrong item to use. If you want to warm the area use the cork, to cool use the brass or the wood. The stick will give a deeper focused massage, and the ball will cover a larger area. Listen to your bodies needs and choose which feels right for you.

All points are to be stimulated for 1 minute, twice a day, or as recommended by your Dr or therapist.
